There was a minor upset in Ravenna where 7th ranked A.Costa IM (10-12) was defeated by tenth ranked Orasi RAV (10-12) 87-80 on Sunday. Orasi RAV outrebounded A.Costa IM 38-27 including 24 on the defensive glass. American point guard Adam Smith (185-92, college: Georgia Tech) scored 27 points and 6 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import power forward Josh Hairston (203-92, college: Duke) chipped in 13 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side power forward Alessandro Simioni (204-98) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and American point guard Timothy Bowers (188-82, college: Mississippi St.) scored 19 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Orasi RAV moved-up to eighth place in A2. Orasi RAV will face Pompea MNV (#10) in Mirandola in the next round. A.Costa IM will play at home against Cagliari DA and hope to win that game.
