The game in Charleville supposed to be also quite interesting. One of their biggest challengers Basket Landes (9-7) played at the court of fifth ranked Flammes (10-6). Flammes did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 79-59 on Sunday. Flammes dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Basket Landes' 32. Flammes had a 28-17 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Basket Landes' players. The winners were led by American forward Haley Peters (190-92, college: Duke) who scored that evening 17 points and 5 assists and the former international power forward Geraldine Robert (183-80) supported her with 12 points and 8 rebounds. Even 13 points and 5 rebounds by Canadian power forward Miranda Ayim (191-88, college: Pepperdine) did not help to save the game for Basket Landes. Czech swingman Romana Hejdova (184-88, agency: Basket Promotion Agency) added 8 points and 8 rebounds for lost side. Basket Landes' coach rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Flammes have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place. Loser Basket Landes dropped to the fifth position with seven games lost. Flammes will meet Tarbes (#8) on the road in the next round. Basket Landes will play against the league's leader Lyon and hope to secure a win.
