Regular Season Round 16: Crvena Zvezda - Tresnjevka 75-60

Bottom-ranked Croatian Tresnjevka (0-12) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 75-60 loss to second ranked Serbian Crvena Zvezda (9-2) in Beograd. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. The game without a history. Crvena Zvezda led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Crvena Zvezda forced 25 Tresnjevka turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of Snezana Bogicevic (177-97) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 5 rebounds. Point guard Ivana Katanic (174-99) contributed with 12 points, 6 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Four Crvena Zvezda players scored in double figures. Crvena Zvezda's coach used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Center Marta Savic (188-1) replied with 19 points and 8 rebounds and American forward Courtney Strait (180-94) added 12 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Tresnjevka. Defending Serbian champion maintains second position with 9-2 record behind leader Beroe. Tresnjevka at the other side still closes the standings with 12 games lost. Crvena Zvezda will play against Celje (#4) on the road in the next round. Tresnjevka will play against Buducnost (#3) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
