Regular Season Round 18: Snaefell - Hamar 63-99
Date: February 22, 2019
The game in Stykkisholmur supposed to be also worth to mention about. Fifth ranked Hamar (12-6) played at the court of 7th ranked Snaefell (1-17). Hamar smashed Snaefell 99-63. The game was mostly controlled by Hamar. Snaefell was better in second period 19-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Snaefell 44-21 including a 31-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. American guard Everage Richardson (191-85, college: Co.Carolina) notched 17 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists to lead the effort and guard Ragnar Ragnarsson (188-97) supported him with 21 points. Four Hamar players scored in double figures. Even 24 points and 4 steals by Lithuanian point guard Dominykas Zupkauskas (183-96) did not help to save the game for Snaefell. Isak Baldursson added 15 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Hamar have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place. Snaefell lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom. They share the position with Sindri. Hamar will play against league's leader Thor AK in Akureyri in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Snaefell will play on the road against FSU (#6) in Selfoss and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
