An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Belfast. Third ranked Tralee faced second-best Belfast Star. Guests from Tralee (11-4) defeated host Belfast Star (11-6) 80-68. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Belfast Star. Tralee dominated down low during the game scoring 42 of its points in the paint compared to Belfast Star's 16. They outrebounded Belfast Star 49-27 including a 35-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for the former international guard Paul Dick (193-91, college: Franklin Pierce) who led his team to a victory with 16 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Swingman Kieran Donaghy (198-83) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Five Tralee players scored in double figures. American guard Mike Davis (193-96, college: Queens, NC, agency: Interperformances) replied with 34 points (!!!) and point guard Christopher Fulton (172-2) added 8 points and 4 assists in the effort for Belfast Star. Tralee have a solid three-game winning streak. Defending champion moved-up to second place. Belfast Star at the other side dropped to the fourth position with six games lost. They share it with Killester. Tralee will play against Maree (#8) in Galway in the next round where they are favorite. Belfast Star will play on the road against Moycullen (#12) in Galway and hopes to get back on the winning track.
