Regular Season Round 22: Alcobendas - Rivas 69-62

Everything went according to plan when fourth ranked Alcobendas (15-6) defeated at home 8th ranked Rivas (9-11) 69-62 on Saturday. They outrebounded Rivas 51-32 including a 38-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a very good performance for center Pablo Rodrigo (204-86) who helped to win the game recording 8 points and 14 rebounds. Forward David Marina (202-88) contributed with 16 points for the winners. Alcobendas' coach Jose Antonio Ramirez used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Power forward Angel Gomez (197-87) replied with 12 points and 8 rebounds and guard Miguel Zamora (189-93) added 15 points in the effort for Rivas. Four Rivas players scored in double figures. Alcobendas maintains fourth position in Group B with 15-6 record. Loser Rivas keeps the eighth place with 11 games lost. Alcobendas will face Casvi (#15) in Villaviciosa in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Rivas will play on the road against Lanzarote (#9) in Arrecife and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
