Very expected game when 13th ranked Aridane (7-14) lost on the road to fifth ranked CB Guadalajara (12-9) 87-71 on Saturday. Strangely Aridane outrebounded CB Guadalajara 45-32 including a 23-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 18 long-distance shots on high 54.5 percentage. It was a very good performance for point guard Alvaro Frutos (188-87) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 5 assists. Forward Raul Lazaro (195-87) contributed with 27 points and 5 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) for the winners. Mali-American power forward Nouhoum Bocoum (207-92, college: Arkansas St.) replied with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 14 rebounds and American forward Billy McDonald (198-94, college: Caldwell) added 13 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Aridane. Four Aridane players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. CB Guadalajara have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain fifth position in Group B with 12-9 record. Newly promoted Aridane keeps the thirteenth place with 14 games lost. CB Guadalajara will face Quintanar (#7) on the road in the next round. Aridane will play against Zentro Basket (#12) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
