Regular Season Round 15: NUIG Mystics - DCU Mercy 41-73

Bottom-ranked NUIG Mystics is still unable to win any game. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their 15th consecutive match to third ranked DCU Mercy (10-4) 73-41 on Saturday evening. DCU Mercy held NUIG Mystics to an opponent 22.8 percent shooting from the field compared to 35.2 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded NUIG Mystics 54-31 including a 30-12 advantage in offensive rebounds. DCU Mercy looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 2 passes made by NUIG Mystics' players. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Samantha Hyslip (183, college: Stonehill) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists. Aine Mcdonnell accounted for 8 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side. DCU Mercy's coach felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American Kayla Morrissey (, college: Grinnell) came up with 19 points and 8 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and Theresa Harrison added 7 points and 7 rebounds respectively for NUIG Mystics in the defeat. DCU Mercy moved-up to second place. NUIG Mystics lost their fifteenth game in a row. They still close the standings with 15 games lost.
