Very predictable result when sixth ranked Gijon Basket (11-6) rolled over at home 13th ranked Rosalia (3-15) 69-25 on Saturday. Gijon Basket held Rosalia to an opponent 15.6 percent shooting from the field compared to 44.8 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded Rosalia 58-29 including a 48-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a very good performance for Canadian forward Ryan Ejim (201-93, college: Carleton) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 14 points and 14 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws). American power forward Malik Wineglass (203-93, college: Harris-Stowe St.) contributed with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Gijon Basket's coach Fran Sanchez felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Point guard Jorge Perez (179-99) replied with 5 points and 6 rebounds and forward Alejandro Carrera (195-0) added 5 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Rosalia. Gijon Basket have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain sixth position in Group A-B with 11-6 record, which they share with Leon. Rosalia lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth place with 15 games lost. Gijon Basket will face Agustinos-Leclerc (#14) in Leon in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Rosalia will play at home against Leon and hope to win that game.
