Very predictable result when third ranked Ermis Agias (14-5) won against bottom-ranked Ethnikos (1-18) in Larissa 97-93 on Saturday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Ermis Agias looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Ethnikos' players. It was an exceptional evening for the former international forward Nestoras Kommatos (203-77) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 13 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals. Guard Vaggelis Tzolos (192-91) accounted for 20 points (made all of his eight free throws) for the winning side. Naturalized Cypriot forward Prodromos Nikolaidis (201-78, agency: Interperformances) came up with 46 points (!!!) and guard Nikos Michalos (192-77) added 16 points and 12 rebounds respectively for Ethnikos in the defeat. Five Ermis Agias and four Ethnikos players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Ermis Agias maintains third place with 14-5 record having just three points less than leader Ionikos Nikaias. Ethnikos lost their ninth game in a row. They stay dead last with 18 lost games. Ermis Agias will meet league's leader Ionikos Nikaias on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Ethnikos will play against Psychiko (#10) and hope to win that game.
