Very important is a home loss of third ranked Ardoi (14-5) against ninth ranked Segle XXI (8-11) on Saturday night. Host Ardoi was crushed by Segle XXI in 85-60. They outrebounded Ardoi 50-29 including a 38-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Helena Pueyo (182-1) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 22 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals. Ana Gamarra (-1) contributed with 12 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Four Segle XXI players scored in double figures. Segle XXI's coach Javier Torralba felt very confident using 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Argentinian forward Maria Lineira (182-83) answered with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds and forward Beatriz Royo (176-91) added 14 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Ardoi. The victory was the third consecutive win for Segle XXI. They maintain ninth place with 8-11 record. Ardoi lost their third game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the third position with five games lost. Segle XXI will play against higher ranked Rioja (#5) in Azkoitia in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Ardoi will play on the road against Cerdanyola and hopes to get back on the winning track.
