Regular Season Round 43: Kanazawa Sam. - Toyotsu FE 63-91

An interesting game for Toyotsu FE (27-16) which played road game in Ishikawa against 4th placed Kanazawa Sam. (17-26). Second ranked Toyotsu FE had an easy win 91-63. Toyotsu FE dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Kanazawa Sam.'s 30. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Josh Hawkinson (208-95, college: Washington St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 24 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists. His fellow American import forward Cherif Sow (201-92) contributed with 11 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Five Toyotsu FE players scored in double figures. Toyotsu FE's coach Ryuji Watanabe felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American power forward Denzel Bowles (208-89, college: JMU) answered with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds and guard Takaaki Kida (186-95) added 22 points (made all of his eight free throws) in the effort for Kanazawa Sam.Toyotsu FE maintains second place with 27-16 record having five points less than leader Shinshu BW, which they share with Cyberdyne IR. Kanazawa Sam. lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourth position with 26 games lost. They share it with Ehime OV and Yamagata. Toyotsu FE is looking forward to face Orange Vikings (#4) in Matsuyama in the next round. Kanazawa Sam. will play on the road against Tokyo HT and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
