Date: February 24, 2019
An interesting game for Nuggets (41-18) which played road game in Los Angeles against their biggest opponent Clippers (33-28). First ranked Nuggets had an easy win 123-96. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Clippers. They outrebounded Clippers 56-38 including a 44-31 advantage in defensive rebounds. Nuggets looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists. The winners were led by Serbian center Nikola Jokic (209-95, agency: BeoBasket) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 22 points and 16 rebounds and forward Paul Millsap (203-85, college: Louisiana Tech) supported him with 21 points and 16 rebounds. Four Nuggets players scored in double figures. Even 24 points (made all of his eleven free throws !!!) by Lou Williams (185-86) did not help to save the game for Clippers. Italian Danilo Gallinari (208-88) added 19 points (made all of his seven free throws) for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Nuggets have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 41-18 record. Loser Clippers keep the second place with 28 games lost. They share the position with San Antonio S.. Nuggets will have a break next day, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Clippers will play against Mavericks and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
