We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 5th ranked KFUM Fryshuset 2 (7-6) was smashed on the road by sixth ranked Kalmar (8-8) 112-75 on Sunday. The game without a history. Kalmar led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 82 of its points in the paint compared to KFUM Fryshuset 2's 50. They outrebounded KFUM Fryshuset 2 50-34 including a 36-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. Kalmar looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 16 passes made by KFUM Fryshuset 2's players. It was a good game for Slovenian Jan Tratnik (190-89) who led his team to a victory with a triple-double by scoring 21 points, 21 rebounds and 19 assists. American forward Mike McDevitt (203, college: Franklin Pierce) contributed with a double-double by scoring 27 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Five Kalmar players scored in double figures. Kalmar's coach Peter Engstrom felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Elijah Baldeh (-99) replied with 20 points and 7 assists and Miki Sulander added 20 points in the effort for KFUM Fryshuset 2. Kalmar have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place. KFUM Fryshuset 2 at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the sixth position with six games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
