Second Stage Round 5: Olimpia - Victoria 102-73

The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Grodno: Olimpia (#2) and Victoria (#4). Olimpia (15-4) crushed visiting Victoria (10-13) by 29 points 102-73. The game without a history. Olimpia led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Victoria's 44 and made 23-of-27 free shots (85.2 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Victoria 57-31 including a 38-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Olimpia looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists. International swingman Arina Masko (175-99) orchestrated the victory by scoring 16 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Forward Katsiaryna Karpuk (180-99) contributed with 18 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Five Olimpia players scored in double figures. Center Anastasiya Serchenya (182-0) answered with 21 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Yana Iahnovets (169-1) added 14 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Victoria. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Olimpia maintains second place with 15-4 record having just six point less than leader Tsmoki-Minsk. Victoria at the other side keeps the fourth position with 13 games lost. Olimpia are looking forward to face league's leader Tsmoki-Minsk on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Victoria will play against Gorizont in Minsk and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
