Regular Season Round 20: MuKi - HyPo 124-69

There was no surprise when 7th ranked HyPo (8-11) was outleveled by fifth ranked MuKi (13-6) in Helsinki 124-69 on Tuesday. The game was mostly controlled by MuKi. HyPo was better in third quarter 26-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded HyPo 47-31 including a 33-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. MuKi looked well-organized offensively handing out 37 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by HyPo's players. Guard Robin Avist (191-0) orchestrated the victory by scoring 27 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Point guard Markus Rautasalo (180-0) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 6 rebounds and 11 assists for the winners. Five MuKi players scored in double figures. Power forward Toni Honka (193-84) replied with 24 points and forward Pekka Puustinen (200-92) added 8 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for HyPo. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. MuKi maintains fifth position in Division with 13-6 record. Loser HyPo keeps the seventh place with 11 games lost. MuKi will face Ura Basket II (#8) in Kaarina in the next round. HyPo will play at home against the league's leader Tapiolan Honka and hope to win that game.
