Second Stage Round 3: Brest - Prinemanye 94-74

There was no surprise when Prinemanye (2-19) was crushed on the road by Brest (8-13) 94-74 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Brest. Prinemanye managed to win fourth quarter 24-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Brest forced 20 Prinemanye turnovers and outrebounded them 49-28 including a 40-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. It was a great evening for guard Anton Shchurko (188-97) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 27 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists. Power forward Kirill Vinokurov (207-99) helped adding 13 points and 17 rebounds. Four Brest players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was forward Dmitriy Mahnach (178-1) with 14 points and 9 assists and forward Sergey Lemeshevskiy (192-1) scored 17 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Brest will meet Rubon (#5) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Prinemanye will play against RCOP Tsmoki (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
