Regular Season Round 4: Rio Claro - Campo Mourao 105-72

There was a change at the Liga Ouro leadership position after last games. Round 4 most important game was a defeat of league's leader Campo Mourao (3-1). They were crushed by eighth ranked Rio Claro (1-3) 105-72 on Thursday night. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Campo Mourao. Rio Claro dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Campo Mourao's 24. They outrebounded Campo Mourao 38-20 including a 34-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Rio Claro shot the lights out from three sinking 18 long-distance shots on high 51.4 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Campo Mourao's players. Worth to mention a great performance of American Cameron Tatum (200-88, college: Tennessee) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 23 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import forward Drew Maynard (200-89, college: Rochester, MI) who added 17 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American guard Wesley Russell (193-93, college: Ohio Christian) responded with 10 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Cassiano Bueno (185-97) scored 11 points. Four Rio Claro and five Campo Mourao players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Rio Claro left bottom position moving up to sixth place, which they share with Pato Basquete. Campo Mourao at the other side dropped to the second position with one game lost. They share it with Londrina and Sao Paulo FC. They were replaced at the leadership position by Cerrado. Campo Mourao will play next round against strong Londrina trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Rio Claro will try to continue on its current victory against second ranked Sao Paulo FC on the road.
