Regular Season Round 22: Bauru - Pinheiros 68-75
Date: February 28, 2019
NBB top team - Pinheiros (18-4) added another victory to their record on Thursday. This time they beat eleventh ranked Paschoalotto/Bauru (7-13) 75-68. They outrebounded Paschoalotto/Bauru 40-26 including 27 on the defensive glass. Power forward Renato Carbonari (206-87) notched 17 points and 9 rebounds to lead the effort and the former international Betinho Nardi-Duarte (195-88) supported him with 13 points and 6 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws). Four Pinheiros players scored in double figures. Pinheiros' coach Cesar Guidetti used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 22 points and 5 rebounds by the former international point guard Larry Taylor (185-80, college: Missouri Western) did not help to save the game for Paschoalotto/Bauru. The former international power forward Lucas Mariano (208-93) added 14 points and 8 rebounds for lost side. Pinheiros have an impressive 11-game winning streak. Despite that victory Pinheiros went down to second position due to points difference. Paschoalotto/Bauru lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh place with 13 games lost. Pinheiros will meet at home Mogi (#4) in the next round. Paschoalotto/Bauru will play against Corinthians (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
