Regular Season Round 19: Chartres - Roanne 66-67

Eighteenth-ranked C'Chartres (3-16) used its home court advantage to challenge first ranked Chorale de Roanne (15-4) on Friday. The visitors from Roanne managed to secure only one-point victory 67-66. However their fans expected much easier game. 27 personal fouls committed by C'Chartres helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international center Ferdinand Prenom (204-91) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). American-Italian point guard Matt Carlino (190-92, college: Marquette) contributed with 12 points and 4 assists for the winners. Stephane Gombauld (202-97) answered with 8 points and 9 rebounds and naturalized Ivorian forward Tiegbe Bamba (204-91, college: Portland St.) added 12 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for C'Chartres. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Chorale de Roanne maintains first place with 15-4 record. C'Chartres lost ninth consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom position with 16 games lost. Chorale de Roanne are looking forward to face SPO Rouen (#6) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. C'Chartres will play against the league's second-placed Sluc Nancy (#2) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
