Regular Season Round 23: Mataro Feimat - Olivar 80-87

There was a minor upset when 5th ranked Mataro Feimat (11-8) was defeated at home by seventh ranked Olivar (10-9) 87-80 on Saturday. Olivar dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Mataro Feimat's 34. They outrebounded Mataro Feimat 59-42 including a 45-30 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for center Jaime Pradilla (206-1) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 19 rebounds and 4 assists. Venezuelan power forward Jose Ascanio (204-96) helped adding 19 points and 17 rebounds. Four Olivar players scored in double figures. Forward David Romero (191-90) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds and Ventura Sergi scored 16 points and 4 assists. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Olivar moved-up to sixth place in Group C-A, which they share with Martorell and Salou. Mataro Feimat lost their third game in a row. They keep the fifth position with eight games lost. Olivar will face Calvia (#12) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Mataro Feimat will play against Esparreguera (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
