Regular Season Round 44: Shimane SM - Gunma 70-86

The game between Top Four teams took place in Shimane. Second-ranked host Shimane Magic (31-13) lost to first ranked Gunma (33-11) 86-70. Swingman Takuya Soma (181-91) responded with 18 points and 9 assists and Venezuelan center Gregory Echenique (206-90, college: Creighton, agency: Pensack Sports) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 15 rebounds. Four Shimane Magic players scored in double figures. Shimane Magic's coach let to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Gunma have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 33-11 record which they share with defeated Shimane Magic. Loser Shimane Magic still keeps top place with 13 games lost. Gunma will face league's second-placed Cyberdyne IR in Tsukuba in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Shimane Magic will play on the road against Aomori Watts and hope to win that game and get promotion back to the B League just one year after relegation.
