Regular Season Round 44: Shinshu BW - Kagawa FA 65-82

The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Shinshu BW (35-9) in Nagano on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by sixth ranked Kagawa FA (13-30) 82-65. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Shinshu BW. Kagawa FA dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Shinshu BW's 32. Kagawa FA forced 19 Shinshu BW turnovers. Americans were the main players on the court. Worth to mention a great performance of center Eric Thompson (204-93, college: Pacific) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 24 points, 21 rebounds and 6 assists and guard Terrance Woodbury (201-87, college: Georgia) who added 34 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. Woodbury is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Swingman Richard Roby (198-85) responded with 22 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and Anthony McHenry (202-83, college: Georgia Tech) scored 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Shinshu BW's coach Michael Katsuhisa rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Kagawa FA have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Bambitious Nara. Shinshu BW at the other side still keeps top position with nine games lost. Kagawa FA is looking forward to face Tokyo HT (#6) on the road in the next round. Shinshu BW will play against Tokyo Z (#5) and is hoping to win this game.
