There was no surprise when 8th ranked Nova Ves (8-18) were defeated on the road by sixth ranked Zilina (13-13) 96-88 on Saturday. Zilina made 24-of-29 free shots (82.8 percent) during the game. Zilina outrebounded Nova Ves 40-21 including a 16-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American forward Deandre Dickson (206, college: W.Washington) stepped up and scored 24 points and 9 rebounds for the winners and Jakub Meress (200-96) chipped in 18 points and 11 rebounds. Canadian guard Joe Rocca (193, college: Carleton) responded with 26 points and 6 rebounds and American guard Gabriel Belardo (188-89, college: FIU) scored 21 points and 6 assists. Five Zilina and four Nova Ves players scored in double figures. Zilina moved-up to fifth place. Nova Ves lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the eighth position with 18 games lost. Zilina will meet higher ranked Iskra Svit (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Nova Ves will have a break next round.
