Regular Season Round 17: PAOK - Holargos 80-73

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 7th ranked Holargos' (8-9) road loss to sixth ranked PAOK (11-6) in Thessaloniki 73-80 on Saturday. Holargos trailed by 20 points after 3 quarters before a 27-14 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 73-80 at the end of the game. PAOK looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. International Linos-Spyridon Chrysikopoulos (206-92) nailed 16 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side and international point guard Antonios Koniaris (196-97) accounted for 9 points and 8 assists. The former international Vladimir Jankovic (202-90) came up with 20 points (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) and center Thomas Kottas (206-96) added 8 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Holargos in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. PAOK moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Promitheas. Newly promoted Holargos dropped to the eighth position with nine games lost. PAOK will meet Kymis (#11) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Holargos will play against AEK and hope to secure a win.
