Regular Season Round 17: Panionios - Lavrio 101-91

There was a small surprise when twelfth ranked Panionios (4-13) won against 10th ranked Lavrio (4-13) in Athens 101-91 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Panionios. Lavrio managed to win third quarter 28-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American guard Davion Berry (193-91, college: Weber St.) nailed 23 points and 9 assists for the winning side and forward Demetric Austin (201, college: Dillard) accounted for 25 points (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Bosnian forward Milan Milosevic (203-85) came up with 18 points and 7 rebounds and American guard William Buford (196-90, college: Ohio St., agency: Two Points) added 17 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Lavrio in the defeat. Five Panionios and four Lavrio players scored in double figures. Lavrio's coach Christos Serellis rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Panionios moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Kymis and Lavrio. Lavrio lost their fifth game in a row. Panionios' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Athens to the arena Panathinaikos.
