Regular Season Round 15: MuKi - Sykki 96-64

Another exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Helsinki: MuKi (#2) and Sykki (#10). MuKi (12-1) crushed visiting Sykki (2-13) by 32 points 96-64. The hosts trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 22-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 96-64. MuKi dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Sykki's 34. MuKi forced 23 Sykki turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Sykki's players. It was a great evening for forward Filemon Halmesmaki (193-0) who led his team to a victory scoring 15 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Roope Karhunen (194-0) helped adding 18 points. Four MuKi players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was forward Mikko Savolainen (196-2) with 16 points and Elmo Villa (187-0) scored 8 points and 7 rebounds. Sykki's coach Tomas Luomanmaki gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. MuKi have an impressive series of twelve victories in a row. They maintain second place with 12-1 record behind leader Rocks. Sykki lost eleventh consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 13 games lost. MuKi's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Helsinki Rocks.
