Regular Season Round 19: Bnei Hertzeliya - Holon 82-85

Twelfth-ranked Bnei Hasharon (4-15) gave a tough game to first ranked Hapoel Holon (16-4) in Hod Hasharon on Saturday. The visitors from Holon managed to secure only three-point victory 85-82. However their fans expected much easier game. Hapoel Holon looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. 25 personal fouls committed by Bnei Hasharon helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a great evening for American-Kosovan Shawn Jones (203-92, college: Middle Tenn.St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 16 rebounds. American guard Corey Walden (188-92, college: E.Kentucky) helped adding 13 points, 5 rebounds and 11 assists. Hapoel Holon's coach Dan Shamir used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side American Jerome Dyson (191-87, college: Connecticut) responded with 19 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists and the former international Karam Mashour (198-91, college: Morehead St.) scored 19 points and 7 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Hapoel Holon have an impressive series of thirteen victories in a row. They maintain first place with 16-4 record. Bnei Hasharon lost tenth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 15 games lost. Hapoel Holon will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Bnei Hasharon will play on the road against Galil Gilboa (#7) in Rosh Pina and is hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
