The game with biggest result difference took place in Egilsstadir. Local Hottur (12-7) was outscored by fifth ranked Vestri (12-7) 100-79 on Saturday night. The game was mostly controlled by Vestri. Hottur managed to win third quarter 25-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 22-of-29 free shots (75.9 percent) during the game, while Hottur only scored two points from the stripe. They outrebounded Hottur 50-33 including a 30-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Vestri looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a quality performance of Montenegrin forward Nemanja Knezevic (203-87) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 26 points, 17 rebounds and 6 blocks (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Vestri moved-up to fourth place, which they share with defeated Hottur. Vestri will meet at home higher ranked Hamar (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Hottur will play against the league's second-placed Fjolnir in Reykjavik and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
