Eleventh-ranked Kymis (4-13) was very close to win a game against fifth ranked Peristeri GS (12-5) in Athens on Saturday. Peristeri GS managed to secure only one-point victory 94-93. However their fans expected much easier game. The hosts trailed by 14 points after first quarter, but they rallied back winning two of next three quarters and won the game in overtime by 1 point. Peristeri GS made 28-of-37 free shots (75.7 percent) during the game, while Kymis only scored nine points from the stripe. Ghanian-American forward Ben Bentil (206-95, college: Providence) nailed a double-double by scoring 27 points and 12 rebounds for the winning side and American-Jamaican guard Ryan Harrow (188-91, college: Georgia St.) accounted for 18 points and 7 assists. American swingman Scott Suggs (197-89, college: Washington) came up with 24 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import point guard JeQuan Lewis (185-94, college: VCU) added 14 points, 5 rebounds and 12 assists respectively for Kymis in the defeat. Four Peristeri GS and five Kymis players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Peristeri GS moved-up to third place, which they share with AEK. Loser Kymis dropped to the tenth position with 13 games lost. They share it with Lavrio and Panionios. Peristeri GS will meet Ifestos (#7) in the next round. Kymis will play against PAOK and hope to secure a win.
