Regular Season Round 44: Fujian S. - Beijing Ducks 106-108

A very close game took place in Jinjiang between Beijing Ducks and Sturgeons. Sixth ranked Beijing Ducks (28-15) got a very close victory on the road over 7th ranked Sturgeons (25-18). Beijing Ducks managed to escape with a 2-point win 108-106 in the fight for the sixth place. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Sturgeons. Beijing Ducks looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The winners were led by American guard Aaron Jackson (190-86, college: Duquesne) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 28 points, 5 rebounds and 13 assists and international guard Shuo Fang (188-90) supported him with 28 points and 7 assists. Even 29 points and 5 rebounds (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) by international Zhelin Wang (214-94) did not help to save the game for Sturgeons. Canadian Andrew Nicholson (206-89, college: St.Bonaventure) added 28 points and 6 rebounds for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Beijing Ducks maintains sixth position with 28-15 record. Sturgeons at the other side keep the seventh place with 18 games lost. Beijing Ducks will meet Jilin Tigers (#13) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Sturgeons will play against Fly Dragons (#20) in Beijing and hope to secure a win.
