Regular Season Round 5: Blumenau - UniFacisa 71-56

Blumenau can celebrate their first win this season after four consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat UniFacisa (1-4) 71-56 on Thursday. They outrebounded UniFacisa 44-24 including a 35-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. The former international power forward Gerson Santo (206-91, college: Colorado St.) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and American guard Que Johnson (198-92, college: W.Kentucky) chipped in 15 points and 8 rebounds. Center Atila Santos (208-83, college: Minn.St.-Mankato) responded with 14 points and 6 rebounds and American forward Tyheim Monroe (198-95, college: Cabrini) scored 7 points and 6 rebounds. UniFacisa's coach Eduardo Schafer tested ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Blumenau left bottom position moving up to seventh place, which they share with defeated UniFacisa. It was UniFacisa's fourth loss in a row. Blumenau will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. UniFacisa will play against Campo Mourao (#3) and hope to win that game.
