Regular Season Round 31: Kataja - BC Nokia 93-100

An interesting game where BC Nokia (#8) won against host Joensuun Kataja (#5) 100-93 on Friday evening. The guests trailed by 10 points after three quarters before their 39-22 charge, which allowed them to win the game. BC Nokia shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 60.0 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was a great evening for American point guard Armin Cane (188-93, college: Stockton) who led his team to a victory scoring 19 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists. Aapeli Alanen (201-96, agency: Blacktop Management) helped adding 26 points and 5 assists. Cane is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the losing side Canadian-Jamaican guard Daniel Mullings (189-91, college: N.Mexico St.) responded with 17 points and 8 rebounds and Cuban-American power forward Adrian Diaz (209-93, college: FIU) scored 19 points, 6 rebounds and 4 blocks. Four BC Nokia and five Joensuun Kataja players scored in double figures. BC Nokia maintains eighth place with 12-19 record. Joensuun Kataja at the other side keeps the fifth position with 11 games lost. BC Nokia will meet at home higher ranked KTP-Basket (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Joensuun Kataja will play against Tampereen Pyrinto and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
