There was a small surprise when sixth ranked Kagawa FA (15-31) defeated on the road their close opponent Tokyo HT (9-38) 102-88 on Friday. Kagawa FA looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists. Americans were the main players on the court. Quite impressive performance for center Eric Thompson (204-93, college: Pacific) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 26 points and 15 rebounds (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field). Guard Terrance Woodbury (201-87, college: Georgia) contributed with 31 points and 4 assists (on 13-of-17 shooting from the field) for the winners. Woodbury is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Kagawa FA players scored in double figures. Kagawa FA's coach Kohei Etoh used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Forward Cleanthony Early (203-91, college: Wichita St.) replied with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 15 rebounds and 6 assists and power forward Alex Jones (206-87, college: Seattle) added 25 points and 14 rebounds in the effort for Tokyo HT. Kagawa FA moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Tokyo Z. Newly promoted Tokyo HT keeps the sixth position with 38 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
