Regular Season Round 12: Batumi - Olimpi 69-61

An interesting game took place in Batumi where 6th ranked Olimpi (6-6) was upset on the court of ninth ranked Batumi (4-8) 69-61. The hosts were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. Batumi forced 21 Olimpi turnovers and outrebounded them 50-39 including 36 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for American guard Kasey Shepherd (190-94, college: La-Lafayette, agency: Duran International) who led his team to a victory with a triple-double by scoring 10 points, 13 rebounds, 12 assists and 5 steals. Serbian center Stefan Andrejevic (209-93) contributed with 16 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Four Batumi players scored in double figures. American forward Mark Ogden (208-94, college: Dixie St.) replied with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds and the former international guard Revaz Rogava (192-93) added 11 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists in the effort for Olimpi. Batumi moved-up to seventh place, which they share with BC Titebi and Cactus Tbilisi. Olimpi at the other side keeps the sixth position with six games lost. Batumi's next round opponent will be BC Titebi (#7) in Tbilisi.
