The game in Borganes supposed to be also quite interesting. Second ranked Keflavik (18-6) played at the court of 7th ranked Skallagrimur (6-18). Keflavik smashed Skallagrimur 92-70 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Keflavik. Skallagrimur managed to win second period 22-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Keflavik dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Skallagrimur's 22. Keflavik forced 19 Skallagrimur turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 33 assists. The winners were led by American guard Brittanny Dinkins (170-94, college: S.Mississippi) who had that evening a triple-double by scoring 35 points (!!!), 14 rebounds and 13 assists and international guard Erna Hakonardottir (168-93) supported her with 17 points and 6 rebounds. Keflavik's coach Jon Gudmundsson felt very confident using entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even a double-double of 24 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists by British forward Shequila Joseph (190-95, college: Mississippi) did not help to save the game for Skallagrimur. The former international power forward Sigrun Amundadottir (181-88) added 14 points and 10 rebounds. Four Skallagrimur players scored in double figures. Keflavik keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Valur. Skallagrimur lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with 18 games lost. Keflavik will meet at home Haukar (#6) in the next round where they are favorite. Skallagrimur will play against Stjarnan and hope to secure a win.
