Rather predictable result in Saporro where third ranked Diamond Dolphins (23-20) defeated 6th ranked Hokkaido L. (10-33) 84-71 on Saturday. Diamond Dolphins looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. It was a great evening for American Craig Brackins (208-87, college: Iowa St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 14 rebounds. The former international guard Shuto Ando (189-94) helped adding 22 points. Diamond Dolphins' coach Shingo Kajiyama let to play all 12 players and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side Canadian-Italian power forward Marc Trasolini (206-90, college: Santa Clara) responded with 18 points and 7 rebounds and guard Asahi Tajima (173-88) scored 9 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists. Diamond Dolphins maintains third place with 23-20 record having thirteen points less than leader Ryukyu GK, which they share with SeaHorses. Hokkaido L. lost their fifth game in a row. They dropped to the fifth position with 33 games lost. Diamond Dolphins will have a break next round. Hokkaido L. will play again at home against Diamond Dolphins (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
