Regular Season Round 20: Belfast Star - Killorglin 85-84

Tenth-ranked Killorglin (5-13) gave a tough game to fourth ranked Belfast Star (13-6). Belfast Star managed to secure only one-point victory 85-84. However their fans expected much easier game. Belfast Star brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. The winners were led by American guard Mike Davis (193-96, college: Queens, NC, agency: Interperformances) who scored that evening 39 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds and Spanish guard Sergio Vidal (194-88, agency: Dynamics Global Management) supported him with 14 points and 8 rebounds. Belfast Star's coach Darren O'Neill allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Even a double-double of 30 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists by Lithuanian-German swingman Daniel Jokubaitis (194-94) did not help to save the game for Killorglin. American guard Shaquille Dance (193-93, college: Limestone) added 28 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the guests. Belfast Star moved-up to third place, which they share with Templeogue. Newly promoted Killorglin keeps the tenth position with 13 games lost. Belfast Star will play against UCC Demons (#7) in Cork in the next round. Killorglin will play on the road against UCC Demons in Cork and hopes to get back on the winning track.
