Sixth-ranked Aomori Watts (12-34) used its home court advantage to challenge second ranked Shimane Magic (33-13). The visitors from Shimane managed to secure only two-point victory 82-80. However their fans expected much easier game. Shimane Magic made 22-of-27 charity shots (81.5 percent) during the game, while Aomori Watts only scored six points from the stripe. Venezuelan center Gregory Echenique (206-90, college: Creighton, agency: Pensack Sports) had a double-double by scoring 24 points and 14 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Hungarian Rosco Allen (208-93, college: Stanford, agency: Pensack Sports) chipped in 28 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side point guard Toshio Kan (184-94) responded with 18 points and 5 rebounds and American forward Cullen Russo (206-94, college: Fresno St.) scored 11 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Aomori Watts players scored in double figures. Aomori Watts' coach Noriyuki Kitaya rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Shimane Magic keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Kumamoto V. Aomori Watts lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with 34 games lost. Shimane Magic will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game.
