There was an upset when 4th placed JA Vichy (14-7) was defeated on the road by fifteenth ranked Quimper UJAP (7-14) 87-76 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was swingman Lucas Dussoulier (203-96) who scored 24 points. American guard Bernard King (196-81, college: Texas A&M) chipped in 17 points and 5 assists. Quimper UJAP's coach Laurent Foirest used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Andell Cumberbatch (198-93, college: St.Bonaventure, agency: Octagon Europe) who recorded 17 points and 7 rebounds and naturalized Ivorian center Mohamed Kone (211-81, college: Valparaiso) added 14 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Five Quimper UJAP and four JA Vichy players scored in double figures. Quimper UJAP moved-up to fourteenth place, which they share with Denain. Loser JA Vichy keeps the fourth position with seven games lost. Quimper UJAP will face Aix-Maurienne (#17) in Aix-les-Bains in the next round. JA Vichy will play at home against ALM Evreux (#13) and hope to win that game.
