A very interesting game took place in Pistoia. It ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 13th ranked Roma Athena (6-17) to eleventh ranked Pistoia (8-15) 52-50 on Saturday evening. Power forward Serena Bona (181-89, agency: SPORTlab Agency) orchestrated the victory by scoring 9 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Martina Luciani (172-93) contributed with 12 points for the winners. Gaia Raveggi (-91) answered with 11 points and 8 rebounds and guard Giulia Bernardini (176-91) added 12 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Roma Athena. Roma Athena's coach Francesco Goccia tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Newly promoted Pistoia maintains eleventh place in A2 with 8-15 record. Roma Athena at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the fourteenth position with 17 games lost. Pistoia's next round opponent will be Orvieto (#15) on the road. Roma Athena will play against Forli and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
