There was no surprise when 14th ranked Barca II (8-17) was crushed on the road by fifth ranked Oviedo CB (16-9) 103-63 on Saturday. Oviedo CB outrebounded Barca II 39-25 including a 30-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Oviedo CB shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 58.3 percentage. Oviedo CB looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Barca II's players. Lithuanian forward Rolandas Jakstas (202-92) fired 9 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Austrian-American forward Bryce Douvier (201-91, college: Texas A&M-CC) chipped in 15 points. Four Oviedo CB players scored in double figures. Point guard Pol Figueras (187-98) produced 14 points and 6 assists and swingman Aleix Font (192-98) added 15 points respectively for lost side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the third consecutive win for Oviedo CB. Oviedo CB moved-up to third place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Barca II keeps the fourteenth position with 17 games lost. Oviedo CB will face Araberri (#16) in Vitoria-Gasteiz in the next round which should be another easy win for them.
