Rather expected game when 10th ranked Forssan Koripojat (6-15) was defeated at home by eighth ranked HNMKY (10-11) 104-87. Forssan Koripojat was ahead by 7 points at the halftime before a 60-36 second half run of HNMKY. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Forward Jesper Granlund (195-0) notched 27 points and 4 assists to lead the effort and forward Sakari Salminen (200-87) supported him with 20 points and 6 rebounds. Five HNMKY players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 29 points and 17 rebounds (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field) by American center Gilbert Talbot (208-94, college: LSU-Alexandria) did not help to save the game for Forssan Koripojat. His fellow American import guard Isaac Williams (195-94, college: Miss.Valley St.) added 28 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. HNMKY maintains eighth position in Division with 10-11 record. Forssan Koripojat at the other side keeps the tenth place with 15 games lost. HNMKY's next round opponent will be league's leader Lahti at home and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Forssan Koripojat will play against ToPo Juniorit (#4) in Helsinki and hope to win that game.
