Regular Season Round 22: Telge - Alvik Basket 71-64

The most important game in the last round took place in Telge between third ranked Alvik Basket (13-5) and sixth ranked Telge (10-8) on Saturday night. Alvik Basket was defeated by Telge in a tough game on the road 64-71. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 24-14. But Alvik Basket won second period 10-8. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Telge made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. American guard Deanna Weaver (180-92, college: Boise St.) fired 19 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. International guard Klara Lundquist (173-99) chipped in 22 points and 4 assists. Four Telge players scored in double figures. American center Janel McCarville (188-82, college: Minnesota) produced a double-double by scoring 21 points and 14 rebounds and international forward Paula Juhlin (184-91) added 18 points and 14 rebounds respectively for lost side. Telge have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place. Alvik Basket at the other side keeps the third position with five games lost. Telge are looking forward to face league's second-placed Lulea Basket at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Alvik Basket will play against Hogsbo in Goteborg and is hoping to win this game.
