Regular Season Round 21: TBV Start - Polpharma 104-91

There was a minor upset when their close opponent Polpharma (10-11) lost to seventh ranked Start (11-11) in Lublin 91-104 on Saturday. Start made 20-of-25 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 22 Polpharma turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. American players dominated the game. It was a good game for guard Joe Thomasson (193-93, college: Wright St., agency: Octagon Europe) who led his team to a victory with 25 points and 6 assists. Point guard James Washington (182-87, college: Middle Tenn.St.) contributed with 20 points and 9 assists for the winners. Four Start players scored in double figures. Point guard Justin Bibbins (173-96, college: Utah) answered with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 5 rebounds and 12 assists and forward Adam Kemp (208-90, college: Marist) added 16 points and 13 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) in the effort for Polpharma. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Start maintains seventh place with 11-11 record, which they share with MKS DG. Loser Polpharma dropped to the ninth position with 11 games lost. Start will face AZS Koszalin (#12) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Polpharma will play against BM Slam Stal and hope to win that game.
