Very expected game when 10th ranked Valur (7-14) was crushed on the road by fourth ranked Keflavik (15-6) 101-77 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Keflavik. Valur managed to win fourth quarter 23-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Keflavik forced 20 Valur turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Michael Craion (195-89, college: ORU, agency: Inception Sports) who scored 16 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists. Lithuanian forward Mindaugas Kacinas (204-93, college: S.Carolina, agency: Octagon Europe) chipped in 14 points and 9 rebounds. Five Keflavik players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American point guard Dominique Rambo (183-91, college: SAGU) who recorded 7 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists and forward Illugi Audunsson (198-92) added 10 points and 8 rebounds respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Keflavik have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Tindastoll. Loser Valur keeps the tenth position with 14 games lost. Keflavik will meet Tindastoll (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Valur will play against Thor Thorl (#6) and hope to secure a win.
