Regular Season Round 47: Yamagata - Kumamoto V. 95-90

There was a change at the B2 League leadership position after last games. Round 47 most important game was a defeat of league's leader Kumamoto V. (33-14). They were defeated by fifth ranked Yamagata (18-29) 95-90 on Sunday night. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Kumamoto V.. Yamagata looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a great evening for American center Will Creekmore (205-89, college: Missouri St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 31 points and 12 rebounds. Guard Yoshifumi Nakajima (176-90) helped adding 17 points and 10 assists. American forward Chehales Tapscott (195-90, college: Portland St.) responded with 45 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 8 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) and South African center Tshilidzi Nephawe (208-89, college: N.Mexico St.) produced a double-double by scoring 26 points and 24 rebounds. Yamagata moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Ehime OV. Kumamoto V. at the other side dropped to the second position with 14 games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Shinshu BW. Kumamoto V. will play next round against Bambitious Nara trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Yamagata will try to continue on its current victory against third ranked Sendai 89ers at home.
