Regular Season Round 24: Novipiu Casale - Remer TVG 95-89

There was an upset when higher ranked Remer TVG (14-10) lost on the road to eleventh ranked Novipiu Casale (12-12) 95-89 on Sunday. Novipiu Casale looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a good game for naturalized American Dalton Pepper (196-90, college: Temple) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international power forward Niccolo Martinoni (203-89) contributed with 22 points and 7 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners. American guard Chris Roberts (193-88, college: Bradley) replied with 28 points and 6 rebounds and swingman Andrea Pecchia (194-97) added 11 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists in the effort for Remer TVG. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Remer TVG's coach Adriano Vertemati gave the chance to play for ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Novipiu Casale moved-up to tenth place in A2. Loser Remer TVG dropped to the fifth position with ten games lost. Novipiu Casale will face FCL Contract LG (#15) in Castellanza in the next round where they are favorite. Remer TVG will play on the road against Pall. Trapani (#11) and hope to win that game.
