Regular Season Round 40: Koshigaya A. - Aisin AW 77-55

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Tokyo. Third ranked Koshigaya A. faced one of their biggest challengers Aisin AW. Host Koshigaya A. (25-9) smashed guests from Aichi (23-11) 77-55. It ended at the same time the ten-game winning streak of Aisin AW. Koshigaya A. looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American Kyle Richardson (201-91, college: Portland St.) fired a double-double by scoring 12 points and 15 rebounds for the winners. The other American import Josh Peppers (201-85, college: Cent.Florida) chipped in 15 points. Four Koshigaya A. players scored in double figures. Koshigaya A.'s coach felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Kevin Kotzur (203-89, college: St.Mary's, TX) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds and Kenshin Urabe (188-95) added 18 points respectively for lost side. Koshigaya A. maintains third position with 25-9 record having six points less than leader Tokyo Excel. Aisin AW at the other side keeps the fourth place with 11 games lost. Koshigaya A. are looking forward to face Saitama Broncos (#6) at home in the next round. Aisin AW will play against Tokyo Cinq R. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
