Not a big story in a game when 6th ranked Roma Luiss (15-8) were outscored on the road by third ranked Salerno (18-6) 90-70 on Sunday. Salerno outrebounded Roma Luiss 40-26 including 26 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a good game for forward Lorenzo Tortu (200-92) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds. Point guard Manuel Diomede (189-90, agency: Two Points) contributed with 17 points for the winners. Four Salerno players scored in double figures. Swingman Antongiulio Bonaccorso (197-97) replied with 22 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and power forward Francesco Infante (202-92) added 15 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Roma Luiss. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Salerno have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 18-6 record having just three points less than leader Cesena, which they share with Olimpia Matera. Loser Roma Luiss dropped to the fifth place with eight games lost. Salerno will face Valmontone (#12) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Roma Luiss will play against Palermo GB (#13) and hope to win that game.
